Matt Watson here. I’m a software developer at Google. I live in San Francisco (born here, never escaped), with my roommate and zero cats.

I’m currently working in AI and am a bit terrified of its effects. I think we need to do a lot more work to understand the many ways its rollout will affect society (and take action, hopefully).

I also love stories, fiction, and the written word. I started college ready to major in English before I was lured into the world of bits and bytes.

So this is my attempt to roll up all those interests into one, sporadically worked on, blog.
